Memento Vivere

Set within this remarkable crypt - a space once shaped by silence and remembrance, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to slow down and reflect on our shared fate: death. And from that reflection, to return to life with fresh eyes. The exhibition invites us to notice what we usually rush past - to pause, breathe and reconnect with the often forgotten beauty of being alive. It is a space for stillness, optimism and quiet presence.

SLART collaborates with Meditation and Wellness Guide Amanda McGregor, who will be offering a gentle talk and guided meditation within the gallery space. Drawing on themes of presence and appreciation found in SLART's work, the session explores how art can become a tool for meditation and the concept of meditation beyond stillness, silence and sitting cross-legged. Amanda will lead a guided Breath Awareness practice that uses art as an anchor and an alternative way of connecting with self.

Through breath appreciation and visual focus, the audience will be invited to rest into the artwork, using it as an anchor for presence. This is a practice of mindful seeing, noticing and being.
