Midlife FAQ
Facts we should know and questions we should be asking ourselves in midlife.
Midlife presents us with so many questions, the unknown and a mirror, reflecting who we have been up to this point. Hot flashes, brain fog, changing skin and routines, there’s a blank canvas that says this is the rest of your life - who are you now, along with the realisation that it’s time to reflect, let go, relearn and reconnect with who you are now. I have shared some commonly asked questions that regularly come up in my masterclasses, retreats and 1:1 sessions.
I hope you find them useful,
Amanda

Why has my skin changed in midlife?
Midlife brings natural changes to our skin. Over time, factors such as changes in hormones, collagen production, hydration levels, lifestyle, stress, sleep and environmental exposure can all influence how our skin looks and feels. Understanding these changes allows us to adapt our skincare routine rather than continuing to use products that may no longer suit our skin.
Why does my skin feel drier than it used to?
Many women notice increased dryness in midlife because the skin’s natural moisture barrier can become less efficient. Supporting your skin with gentle cleansing, hydration, nourishing ingredients and a consistent routine can help your skin feel more comfortable and balanced.
Why does my makeup sit differently now?
Skin texture, hydration levels and changes in elasticity can affect how makeup applies. Rather than trying to cover your skin, midlife can be an opportunity to focus on skincare preparation, hydration and enhancing your natural features.

Why does midlife feel like such a significant time of change?
Midlife can be a period of reflection, transition and growth. Many women begin to reassess their priorities, relationships, identity and wellbeing. It can be an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and create space for what matters now.
What does self-care really mean in midlife?
Self-care is about intentionally caring for your physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. It can be as simple as taking time to rest, creating healthy boundaries, moving your body, practising mindfulness or doing something that brings you joy.
Why do I struggle to prioritise myself?
Many women have spent years caring for others and placing their own needs last. Midlife can be a time to recognise that looking after yourself is not selfish — it allows you to feel more present, energised and connected.
How can meditation support my wellbeing?
Meditation can create moments of calm and awareness in everyday life. It can help you slow down, reconnect with yourself and become more aware of your thoughts, feelings and needs.

Self-love is building a kinder relationship with yourself. It is accepting where you are, caring for yourself through life’s changes and recognising your own worth beyond your appearance or achievements.
Is self-care selfish?
No. Caring for yourself is a necessary part of wellbeing. When you make space for yourself, you are better able to show up with more energy, patience and presence in your life.
How can I feel more confident in midlife?
Confidence grows when we stop measuring ourselves against who we used to be and begin appreciating who we are now. Confidence comes from self-acceptance, self-care and reconnecting with the things that make you feel alive.
How can I embrace this next chapter of my life?
Midlife can be a blank canvas. It is a chance to ask yourself what you want more of, what you want to release and how you want to care for yourself moving forward.
How can I feel more at home in my changing body?
